JO HERITAGE

We believe in the power and potential of the feminine, in the value of our latin heritage, and in caring for every detail while generating social inclusion. We recognize the importance of holistic growth hand in hand with our community and our planet.

Our essence relies on a celebration of our heritage, handwork, craftsmanship, artisanal techniques and the promotion of local development. 90% of our pieces are ethically made in our state-of-the-art atelier in Cali, Colombia, by our JO family.

Each season, we unveil artisanal collaborations that celebrate the rich Andean tradition of handcrafted beauty. With ancestral knowledge, local materials, and time-honored techniques, we craft a native splendor that endures

We have partnered with 23 Colombian communities who make our artisanal pieces come to life, promoting local development and generating a positive change.

Our artisanal association partners provide 260 vulnerable women from rural communities an opportunity for empowering and fulfilling ways to earn a living wage for themselves and their families.

The timeless objects speak for themselves. Our 'Original Piece' label honors their provenance, celebrating the artisan community that crafted each item with care and expertise.

Iraca - Sandoná

Crafted with the utmost care, this piece is carefully hand-woven using Iraca Palm Fibers sourced from Sandoná, nestled in the heart of Nariño.

In a tradition woven into the fabric of this community, men undertake the night-time gathering of the precious Iraca during the waning moon, selecting the perfect hue and delicate fineness. Once cleaned, washed, and occasionally dyed, women take up the art of hand-weaving within the confines of their homes of family workshops. Seeds, leaves, branches, walnut, black cedar, and minerals serve as the source of dyes, rendering an extensive array of captivating colors.

Variations in shape, color, and texture are due to the nature of the artisanal materials and techniques used throughout the process.
